Virginia law requires that, to see a licensed physical therapist, you must have a prescription from any one of the following medical practitioners:
- Medical Doctor (MD) – including but not limited to general practitioner, internist, allergist, psychiatrist, gynecologist, neurologist, orthopedist, etc.
- Osteopathic Physicial (DO)
- Dentist (DDS, DMD)
- Chiropractor (DC)
- Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Lisa Shimberg is able to see a patient for an initial evaluation without a referral from the above listed medical practitioners.
